Day 30 - Your least favorite movie
Aww come on, you gotta be kidding me. There are so many movies I really despise, but I can't pick the least favorite of them all. Sorry for the cop out but...yeah. :(

Day 29 - A movie that changed your opinion on something
I think it's actually more the documentaries I mentioned before (though most of them didn't so much change my opinions, they just manifested them *ponders*). As for movies, I seem to be repeating myself, but Dead Poets' Society. I was a teenager at the time and while not easy to influence, I was still impressionable. And this movie definitely changed pretty much my entire view of the world. Funnily enough, I also think that Erin Brockovich was a big influence because it showed me that, yes, one person can make a damn difference (from an early age, I was kinda jaded when it came to this sort of thing and didn't see much of a reason to fight for your beliefs, and this movie changed that).

Day 28 - Movie with the best soundtrack
Normally, I would've gone with Blues Brothers because, ya know, Blues Brothers! But I already used that movie for a different answer (and mentioned the "best soundtrack" would go to a different movie because of it). So, my pick for this category is definitely Pulp Fiction. I love, love, love that soundtrack. (Honorable mention goes to Mamma Mia because I am a huge ABBA fan. :D)

Day 27 - Favorite classic movie
How do you define a classic movie? Anything way old but famous? Because there are some so-called "instant classics" (with or without reason), so it's kinda difficult to pick one. The problem I have is that most of the "classic" classic movies (old, with the big stars from yonderyear, from Bogart to Cagney) do absolutely nothing for me. So I'm going with The Graduate, which I personally consider to be a classic movie. And it's awesome. :)

Day 26 - A movie that is a guilty pleasure
Hmm...!!! Guilty pleasure implies that you're embarrassed about it or feeling guilty for liking it, right? And I don't think there's such a movie for me. I'M OUT AND PROUD WHEN IT COMES TO MY MOVIES! *g* Okay, how's about this; I do like the occasional chick flick (maybe that should've been my answer for yesterday? Folks would be surprised that I like chick flicks?) and whenever Sleepless in Seattle is on TV and I'm home, I just have to watch it. And I bawl every single time. (Though I still don't feel guilty or embarrassed about it.)

Day 25 - A movie that no-one would expect you to love would probably have to ask others that question? *ponders* I mean, I have a pretty eclectic taste that ranges from comedy to sci-fi, so...anything goes really? And nobody should be surprised? I guess? Maybe? Sorry, can't answer that one. :(

Day 24 - Favorite documentary
There are a lot of brilliant documentaries for all kinds of different reasons.
So, let me start with 9/11, an "accidental" documentary about what happened on The Day We'll Never Forget. A couple of French filmmakers were actually making a documentary about a rookie NY firefighter when the planes hit the twin towers. So they joined the NYFD in the mayhem and chaos. It's the only documentary that makes you be part of what really went down. It's heartbreaking and sickening and shocking. And almost impossible to watch. But it's must-see.
Then there's Bowling for Columbine. Think of Michael Moore what you will, but this is a documentary that shows the complete madness that is the NRA (Charlton Heston being a caricature of himself is astonishing to watch). And Marilyn Manson - of all people - is the most amazing voice of reason in this madness. (Moore: If you were to talk directly to the kids at Columbine or the people in that community, what would you say to them if they were here right now? - Manson: I wouldn't say a single word to them. I would listen to what they have to say, and that's what no one did.)
An Inconvenient Truth as well as Super-Size Me are also very important and educating documentaries that everyone should see.

Day 23 - Your favorite character from any movie
You gotta be kidding me. This is pretty much impossible to answer. *ponders* Okay, I'm going to go with John Keating, the teacher portrayed by Robin Williams in Dead Poets' Society. He really did change the way I viewed the world, even though he's not real. I'd say that's pretty damn good reason to be my facorite movie character, right?

Day 22 - The most underrated movie
Hmm! So many movies that I love dearly and cannot understand why the world at large isn't  raving about them too. So, this is my chance to tell everyone (and I'm sure most of y'all have not seen those movies) to treat yourself. Funny and interesting: all of them are European movies. (Coincidence?) First of all, Au Revoir Les Enfants. Second of all, Babette's Feast. Last but not least: Bend It Like Beckham. (I'd've gone with Billy Elliot for Great Britain, but I do think it's "famous" enough for folks to have seen it). Oh, and also? If you like slightly experimental brilliance: Run, Lola, Run.

Day 21 - The most overrated movie
Do NOT get me started. How much time do you have?! LOL Seriously though, let me give a blanket statement: any and all movies featuring Adam Sandler or David Spade. Or Martin Lawrence, for that matter. However, not of those claim to be in any way "good movies" so they can't really be overrated, can they? So let's look at famous/beloved/acclaimed movies instead. Casablanca. One of the worst movies I've ever seen. Humphrey Bogart is one of the worst actors ever. The script was ridiculous. Except for Ingrid Bergman, the acting was atrocious. The movie may be a classic, but I say it's trash.

ETA: Even though this will probably be a very unpopular opinion, I would like to add something to this list, namely pretty much any and all Woody Allan movies. Dude's a self-absorbed, talent-less shmuck. I honestly don't get why people think you're either not "intellectual enough" or just not a "cineast" when you don't worship the ground Allan walks on. His movies suck. They make no sense. I've given up trying to watch them after the third or fourth time, so in theory his newer movies could have improved (but I highly doubt that). The only one I somehow managed to sit through was Annie Hall (still thought it was a bad movie though), and that was mostly thanks to the wonderful Diane Keaton.

Day 20 - Your favorite actress
Meryl Streep. Also, Meryl Streep. Not to mention Meryl Streep. Seriously, she can do it all - drama, comedy, musical. She's by far the most brilliant actress of her generation (and any other generation).
Honorable mentions: Jodie Foster, Kathy Bates, Glenn Close, Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Emma Thomson. :)

Day 19 - Your favorite actor
Despite what I said yesterday *g* I love, adore and worship George Clooney. He's brilliant and amazing, and not just as actor. He's an incredibly talented writer and director, as well. Of course there are tons of other awesometastic actors (Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, Leo diCaprio, Tom Hanks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, William H. Macy, Colin Firth, Alan Rickman, Kevin Spacey, Russell Crowe, Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington, Anthony Hopkins, Dustin Hoffman, and ZOMG BOB DE NIRO!!11!) but when it comes right down to it, George will always be my number one. :)
(And this is only for movie actors. If we're going with TV actors, we'll be here all day. *g*)

Day 18 - A movie that disappointed you the most
Uh... *ponders* Wow, this one's a toughie. I guess I should just finally learn not to be disappointed by sequels (Pirates of the Caribbean IV, I'm looking at you. Matrix III, I'm glaring at you.) but when it comes to a "stand alone" movie that I had the highest hopes for and was totally disappointed by... Probably "Syriana". I mean, come on. In theory, it's the perfect movie for me. Political drama, highly interesting plot, George Clooney and Matt Damon - what's not to love? And yet, I was so horribly disappointed by the movie that I didn't even finish it. I can't even pinpoint why I was so disappointed. The movie just didn't grab me. Like, at all. I was bored to tears. And I really, really, really wanted to like that movie! :(
...and I actually came back to edit this schedule entry to add another movie, namely Birdman. I watched it on my flight to New York this year, and I was really looking forward to it. Like, I saw it was one of the offered movies and almost did a happy dance because I was dying to watch it! But OMG I was horribly disappointed. Maybe I'm just too stupid to understand it (intellectual movie no good for Gaby?) but I actually despised the damn thing about halfway through. Sorry, Michael Keaton, you did an amazing acting job, but the movie was utterly horrible.
