After trying to mend things in a civil manner (don't ask me why I even tried), I got slapped down again by the person responsible for all this. At least now I know why the stories were removed. (insert heavy sarcasm here)
* My stories: "I removed the need for you to communicate with me by removing your stories"
Which, of course, makes no sense at all, because 1. I didn't ever communicate with her about my stories but Raven's, and 2. I would continue to try to communicate with her, should the need arise due to other reasons. And let's not forget that 3. I would've stopped communicating with her if she had done what she was supposed to do and what she had announced she had already done (and so, blatantly lied about it): correcting the mistaken author identities!
And it kinda begs the question in general terms why someone running such a huge award thing would even want to cut off means of communication with anyone... *frowns in confusion* And let's be honest, deleting a person's stories without rhyme or reason kinda sorta will make that person contact you even more, won't it?
* Raven's stories: "If she (Raven) chooses to deal directly with me regarding her stories, then your behaviour will have no bearing on whether her stories are in the Spookys or not, it'll be based entirely on her relationship with me"
Which means that 1. this is personal because Raven got punished in my stead, 2. the Spookys aren't about writing but personal likes and dislikes (not even in regard to the stories but the people writing it), and 3. my "behavior" (which consisted of me insisting that the mistakes would please finally be corrected, mind you) apparently upset her too much to act professionally, so she couldn't stand the fact that she was found lying about the mistakes. Sorry about that.
I would like to stress that this is not about me having a fight with the Spooky committee. I don't know who else is on it other than one person (the committee consists of four people, I only know two, and I know those two personally). That other person is just as shocked by all this as the rest of us are, and has made it clear that the committee has not been informed of any of this, so the stories being pulled was not the committee's decision, but the personal decision of the one person who's had a personal problem with me for a while. I'm still not naming names, but I think it's pretty obvious who that person is.
Now, in that latest email by that person, I was told again that this isn't anything personal, that she'd never play any petty games and that she's neither out to get me or to get even with me, that instead I can't be civil and that she's not being paid enough to put up with my attitude. (whatever that means because, again, all I did was ask for the mistakes to be corrected...sigh...)
In case anyone still doubts that this is, in fact, personal, I would like to point out one thing.
Both Raven's and my stories have mysteriously been deleted from the Down in the Basement Archive.
Coincidence?!
