Just a quick THANK YOU to everyone who's been kind enough to wish me a happy birthday privately or in LJ Land, not to mention the b-day fics and pics and what nots!

I'm sneaking online to send a group hug because I don't have much time right now (it's crazy today at work) so I won't even get to enjoy all my pressies and good wishes till I'm home tonight (whenever that may be...grumble...). But trust me, it's all very appreciated and I'm thrilled and excited and would do the Snoopy happy dance if people wouldn't look at me funny here at the office... LOL!

Will reply to everyone individually later today or tomorrow, I promise!

Thanks, y'all, and SPANKIES FOR EVERYONE!!! *snicker*

I've been thinking about this for a while now...

This is the 21st century, after all *bg*, and mailing lists are "so '90's". I know some people have trouble with the current update ML I'm using for the Shack, and I've had trouble with both yahoo and topica in the past. So, to put it mildly, I'm not too keen on using mailing lists anymore. Or, at least, not exclusively.

I'm always posting a note (on the fridge door *g*) at the Shack when there's an update, so all people have to do is check the website, and they'll see what's new.

The downside of it is, there's no real communication, except sending me (or one of the other authors) a personal email, and a lot of readers feel uncomfortable doing so. Which is more than understandable, I've been there, and I know that it takes a lot of guts to write to someone you don't know at all.

And so I thought an LJ community, open to everyone, might be the solution. I can quickly update it whenever a new story is posted at the Shack, people can comment on the posts or add new posts if they so desire - and the community is open to everyone, which means you don't even have to have your own LJ or be a member of the community to post. So, if you want to contact one of the authors or maybe ask a question, all you have to do is post in the community, and we'll get a bit of a chitchat going. :)

I have no idea if this'll work, so this is mostly an experiment right now. But I'd love to give it a try, and so I invite everyone to check out the new LJ community here.

If you like, feel free to spread the word about this. The more people we get to drop by, the better. :)
