Parts of this episode could only be explained by serious drug abuse, so I'm firmly of the opinion that the crappy stuff was just made up in Tony's mind. And really, all he truly wanted was to be rescued by the Silver Fox. "Guess I can't live without you?" WTF kind of line was that to say to Ziva of all people?! *shudders*

Still, we got competent!Tony, and lots of it. And great banter. And brilliant Tony/Gibbs scenes. And shoulder holster shots! *g* (yes, I'm shallow, and ogling MW helps me erase the Tiva-heavy stuff I had to endure!)
