Even after sleeping on it, even after having over a day to get over it, I'm still beyond enraged.

You see this?

matt+mark emmy

In my headcanon, in my reality, this is what actually happened. This is Matt Bomer with the Emmy he oh-so-rightfully won. With Mark hiding his Emmy somewhere because he, too, of course, won. This is not the ONLY Emmy The Normal Heart won, with Matty and Mark showing it off and smiling into the cameras while inwardly not trying to hulk out over the fucking injustice of it all.

more ranting behind the cut )

I promise I'm done ranting now. I just needed to get this out of my system.

The Normal Heart won ONE Emmy.

Just. A. Single. One.

Are you fucking kidding me???

I am so incensed right now, I could scream. In fact, I did scream at my laptop when Matty lost. HE WAS ROBBED. Hell, everyone (except maybe Julia Roberts - I did favor Kathy Bates) was robbed.

And you could see Matty's disappointment when the "winner" was announced. I just wanted to reach through my screen and smish him.

FU, Emmy assholes. Eff. Yoo.

I don't know why they're so obsessed with Sherlock (of all things! *shudders*) but this year more than ever, they fucking missed the opportunity to reward and honor something very special. Something very important. I guess I should be thankful that they recognized The Normal Heart as Best TV Movie. Pardon me for not feeling very thankful right now. *fumes* (to be honest, I was convinced that this one would also go to Sherlock, because, hey, it's totally a TV Movie and not a Mini-Series, right??? *fumes some more*)

JFC.

Going to rage myself to sleep now... (Can't believe I stayed up to watch this trainwreck.)

So, I'm working my way through all the feedback that kind readers left on my MMOM fics...

...and I'm suddenly thinking, "Hey, waitaminit, I already responded to this!"

And then I'm thinking, "Why's there suddenly an obvious response from me posted as comment to my own entry?!

And then I'm thinking, "Why are there only four comments (two of them from yours truly!) when gmail tells me there should be ten pieces of feedback?!"

Fuck you, LJ. You've deleted/lost/otherwise got rid of comments to my entries! I have no clue how far back this goes, because I began responding to feedback for my fic posted on May 7 (!!!) and I don't want to double-check even older posts. Either way, you suck, LJ. SUCK!

So, apologies to anyone who receives any responses again. I just want to be courteous and thank everyone for leaving feedback, and if LJ makes it look as if I haven't yet...well, prepare to be spammed. *helpless shrug*

I'm just glad that I use gmail to archive all of my feedback so I can go back and reread the kind comments there...since apparently LJ is completely incapable of leaving my entries alone. *fumes*

So, I wake up, grab my tablet and go online to check my emails and flist while still lounging in bed (dontcha love the 21st century?!) when I realize that something is missing. Or, more precisely, my flist isn't spammed with dozens of new entries as it usually is. Then I scroll down and see my own last entries...and in my A/N, the comm name for [livejournal.com profile] mmom is striked through.

My first thought is that I was too stupid to get a four-letter name right, but then the lack of new entries suddenly makes sense.

I go to check out the comm in question, and lo and behold, it's suspended. SUSPENDED!!! Seriously, LJ?! For what?! Masturbation?! Last time I checked, adult content was still allowed here. Or did our Russian overlords change the rules?! Again?!

*fumes*

So, I got spammed today.

LJ deemed it time to finally send me all those notifications I should've received in the last few days (or, more precisely, notifications from last weekend till about Thursday or so).

I did change my email addy in hopes that LJ likes gmail better than my previous addy, and it seemed to do the trick. I think. I hope. At least I started to receive notifications again (no clue if it's all notifications I should have received, of course...), so I'll go with that for now. And this morning, I found about 70 old notifications in my inbox. Joy.

LJ's been slow and acting erratic at times lately, so the notification issue was basically just the icing on the cake. It's so damn frustrating. If only all of my fave comms were on DW, I'd've moved there permanently a long time ago! *sulks*

Just a quick heads up:

LJ hasn't sent me any notification emails in at least three days.

I have no way of knowing if you commented on one of my posts or replied to one of my comments.

Worse still, I'm not informed if there are any entries waiting to be approved in the comms I'm modding.

I track certain comms and personal journals (the ones that are important to me) because oftentimes I don't have time to peruse my entire flist. That way, I at least know there's a new entry that's worth my time, and I check it out directly. That, also, doesn't work now, obviously.

IT FRUSTRATES ME TO NO END.

I don't have time to spend hours on LJ due to RL issues, so I might miss new entries from you (the ones I'm stalking tracking), and I honestly don't have time to constantly double-check my own journal or any journal/comm I might have left a comment, just to see if someone responded. I'm sorry. Please rest assured I'm not ignoring you. I'm just...ignoring you. :(

Apparently, LJ's finally working for me again! \o/ Only took, what, four days?

Awesomesauce! /sarcasm

Anyhoo. That means I can actually compile the Friday editions of [livejournal.com profile] wcnewsletter and [livejournal.com profile] ncis_newsletter, so yay for that.

The weekend will be spent perusing my flist, which is now at 300+ skips, so \o? I see tons of new ficcage and memes and otherwise interesting stuff posted, so...there goes my weekend! *g* Well, of course, unless LJ decides to screw me over again in just a few hours. *narrows eyes*

So, prepare to be spammed. I shall comment, and spammily commenting I shall!

Good thing I'm way ahead on my word count for getyourwordsout already. I can skip a couple days of writing, if need be. :D

ETA: And I take it all back because it just took me a good ten minutes to post this teensy tiny fucking entry. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!

Best. Reaction. Ever.

I think everyone in the NCIS fandom knows or at least has heard about the uproar, especially on FB, regarding Dorneget, a recurring character that turned out to be gay.

I'm not gonna go into any details here, y'all know what I'm talking about.

Anyway, here's the most awesometastic reaction ever. An open letter. A BRILLIANT open letter.

If you don't much care for the review of  "Need to Know" (though it's funny and raises a few interesting questions, most notably about the absence of Jimmy Palmer), just fast forward to about five minutes in. That's where the open letter starts.

So, it's not like I've waited the entire season for this episode or anything, right? Because hey, it's only Senior's return, after all, right?

And yet you decide I shouldn't get to see the damn ep.

1) Global doesn't air it on Monday, as is tradition this season. Okay, I can live with that. It means I won't be able to snag it off the internet Tuesday morning and indulge myself (and get half a dozen tags written before it airs on CBS), but hey, that's cool.

2) There's only one--in other words: ONE!--working live stream and its quality is TOTAL CRAP. So I'm sitting here, Tuesday night my time, watching a CBS feed that barely allows me to see what the hell is happening, not to mention understand what anyone is saying! I'd give up if it were any other ep, but it's Senior, and I'm amped, and so I'm trying my best to figure out what the funny looking pixels are doing and saying.

3) And then, dear tech gods, you decide that this isn't enough. Nooo, you decide to really screw with me. Because, in all your wisdom, you decide to completely cut me off my NCIS fix just as the last act starts. My internet connection completely craps out for good, with about eight minutes to go. Thank you ever so frakkin' much. Because no matter what I do to my modem, it stays dead.

4) And so here I am, less than four hours later, after almost no sleep but unable to go back to bed because the cats demand attention. At least the modem's working again, so I'm online, and I'm downloading about to watch the episode in all its technicolor glory, and I'll finally be able to watch the last scene which I know is beyond awesome because I already saw a bit of it in the promo trailer.

But I'm beyond tired and I'm cranky, and I repeat: WTF, tech gods? What? The? Effing? Fuck?!

I just found out quite by accident that I haven't been receiving all LJ notifications lately.

I don't know how long this has been going on, so I'm going to go through my older entries and double-check that I haven't missed anything. *shakes fist*

I know that LJ got DDoS'd a while back, and I understand that it took a while until things started working again.

I know there was a day or two when notifications suddenly trickled in very slowly ([livejournal.com profile] gibbsgirlabby and I were emailing about this at the time, I remember).

But I thought things were back to normal! *despairs* But, no.

I've found a couple of comments to entries in this personal LJ here. I've found a couple of feedback comments over in my fanfic comm [livejournal.com profile] gaby_fanfic . There's an awesome and very inspiring *g* v-gift from my dear [livejournal.com profile] kanld that nobody (aka LJ) told me about. *shakes fist*

So, big thank you to [livejournal.com profile] kanld for the whip! *Snoopy happy dance*

And I urge everyone to please make sure to check your own LJ to see if maybe you missed some comments as well. Nobody wants people to wonder why they're being ignored, after all! LOL! *headdesk*

Is this on? Is this working? Are we on air? *pokes mike*

Seriously, WTF LJ?!?!?!

I don't care how many DDoS attacks you have to endure. This isn't the first time this happened, and you should friggin' be prepared. I'm NOT HAPPY.

LJ has been completely down for me since I tried to access it Monday morning. COMPLETELY DOWN. I was able to load my flist TWICE in that time (once on Tuesday, once on Thursday) though I couldn't click on any links, so anything behind an LJ cut was a mystery to me, and I couldn't leave any comments either. Now it's Friday morning. Four whole days without any service. I repeat: WTF?

And if I hadn't found LJ's twitter account by accident (all hail google!) I wouldn't have even known what's going on. Not that LJ has any kind of policy stating that they should communicate with their users. Ya know, some of us PAY for this service. *mutters to self* I really wish they'd realize it's common sense to give regular updates on what's going on. And not wait 20 hours for the FIRST short info (which really just stated that the site is down. Orly? I hadn't noticed! /sarcasm)

Anyway.

I'll now go and read my flist. I'm kinda jealous that some people were able to access LJ and post stuff, but apparently, it wasn't too many, so it's not like I have to go through 500 new entries or whatever. Guess I should be grateful. Snerk.
