Well then. This is the first weekend in ages where I don't actually have to sit at my computer and frantically type away. All of my bigbang stories are finished and "only" need to be polished. So yay to that. I never thought I'd actually manage all three bigbangs, but I did, and I'll spend part of the weekend patting myself on the back,  I think. :-)

Looking at the posted summaries of the other bigbang entries, I have to say, I'm beyond intrigued by some of the epics that we'll get to see. Lots of good stuff waiting to be devoured soon! *rubs hands together gleefully*

Since I'm getting kinda old and senile, I thought I'd post an update on what will be posted when...and what other writing commitments I still have. Sure helps me keep track of things! LOL! And maybe whet your appetite as well. :-)

I'm thrilled that both my XF and my kinky story were already claimed for art! *does Snoopy happy dance* Since the NCIS claim post just went up yesterday, I'm hoping some kind soul will grab that fic as well sometime later. We'll see.

(As I already said,  I hope I'll have it done by Halloween, m'dear.)

Fic--NCIS AU.
Gibbs is selected as an partner to the DiNozzo heir. Nobody has seen or met this heir before, nobody has any idea if the heir is male or female. Bonus if Abby and Ducky are Gibbs' advisors. Extra bonus for rigid society.
(I sooo can't wait to sink my teeth into that one, but I'm still trying to figure out the details...them Muses are recalcitrant at the mo. *glares at them*)

3. for thefannishwaldo
NCIS kink!fic - Top!Gibbs, bottom!Tony.  Lifestyle, BDSM club, spanking (ooh please!), flogging, whatever... (Nothing that has to do with breaking the skin - needleplay, etc, though please... *shivers*)
(I always love writing kink, but I might have to take a teensy break from it right now and come back after writing some good old fashioned smut or humor or downright crack!fic...but I'll write it, I've already got some loverly ideas for it... Who knows, might even be a sequel to my kink_bigbang fic... *shifty*)

The new deadline is October 15 (aka, it's in a friggin' week!) and my current word count is:






So far, so good. A quarter down, three quarters to go.

I have the rest of today, half of tomorrow and most of Sunday. I'll do my best to get at least the biggest chunk written. I don't have to send in a finished fic by the deadline, which is good, as long as I can provide gap fillers for the artist who might be interested in claiming my fic to create some art for. *crosses fingers*

Speaking of which, both my xf_bigbang and my kink_bigbang fics got claimed by artists! YAY! Even my XF fic! Despite it being slashy and kinky! Wonders never cease...

It's now even longer than the last time I posted an update (word count is now somewhere close to 24K), and the darn thing will still get polished and tweaked and have stuff added here and there, I'm sure. *headdesk*

But I've got till November to have the final draft ready, so I'm not worried. For now, all I gotta concentrate on is my NCIS Big Bang fic. Fair warning, Spoony, I shall spam you with hysterical emails and PM's soon-ish! *shifty* LOL!

Granted, it's a pretty rough first draft, all things considered, and I'll definitely need to do some extensive rewriting, especially the last scene was a bumpy ride, but I had to finish the damn sucker.

See, I need to turn in the finished first draft on September 10th. Which, of course, sucks when you don't have time to write and finish the epic in peace. *grumbles* However, now it's finished, it's got a beginning, a middle and an end. I managed to meet all requirements and can now only hope that some artist is actually going to pick my fic to make a matching manip/banner/vid/whatever. LOL! We'll see.

Anyway, now I can rest assured that I met the deadline (the final version will be posted in November, so I've got enough time to do a rewrite), and can now concentrate on the other bigbang fics that are due this month. *headdesk*

Alex friggin' Krycek still hasn't made an appearance!!! *major headdesking* Now, we've heard him and he's been talked about, and we're about to enter the room he's in, but...no Alex yet! Which means that, yes, there'll be a few more thousands words before this fic is done!

Major fail of epic proportions.

The good things is, I now met the requirements (20,000 words by September 10th), and if I understand the rules correctly, I don't actually have to have the fic finished, I only need to have at least 20,000 words written and the entire story outlined. Since I have both, I should be safe now. Thank goodness! I can now rest easy (or at least easier), take a deep breath, and finish this thing at a more sedate pace.

And start concentrating on the other two bigbang fics that are due in September... *more headdesking*
